Nkumba University has established itself as a leading University and influential player dealing with security and strategic studies and research in the country. In addition to the internal discourses the University organizes discussions with security stakeholders and the public at large. The first security symposium under the theme: A comprehensive understanding of security sector management in a macro socio-political
science perspective was held at Nkumba University in May 2015. The next conference was on National Security “Civil Society and Security Governance in Uganda: Breaking the Divide between State and Non State Actors’ Understanding of National Security” and was held on 3rd May 2017. Once again Nkumba University in conjunction with Security studies and Analysis Centre (SESAC-NU) are organising the third National Security Studies
